What is Corporate membership?

Corporate membership is for businesses that have grown beyond the medium-sized enterprise thresholds (asset base above US$1 million, annual turnover above US$3 million, and/or more than 75 employees). These are businesses in the Take-off phase: expanding beyond their original area of operation, nationally, regionally or internationally.

This membership is for corporates that want to retain the services of the Association as they scale up beyond the medium-sized enterprise stage. Our support centres on your expansion strategy, on developing export markets, and on specialist value-added services for your organisation.

Benefits

Our mission is to grow small and medium-sized enterprises into large corporations. Corporate membership is where that journey continues: you have outgrown the medium-sized enterprise stage, and our role is to help you expand in a planned way, with the systems, people and markets that a larger business needs.

Corporate members are entitled to:

1. Expansion strategy development. Facilitation of your expansion strategy, including facilitation of your strategy sessions and participation in board meetings on an advisory basis.
2. Export market development. Participation in the Export Development Program, and inclusion in regional and international export development initiatives.
3. Value-added services for your organisation, quoted individually:
   • Systems reviews (internal audit review)
   • Design and implementation of internal control systems
   • Installation of accounting systems
   • Facilitation of strategic planning sessions
   • Assistance with implementation of ISO 9001:2015
   • Assistance with setting up in-house recruitment systems
   • Bespoke consultancy and in-house training
4. Where needed, assistance in the review and implementation of systems to manage growth across several locations.
5. Advanced, international Strategic Management training programs covering operations, marketing, finance and human resource management.
6. Assistance with seeking funding and investors for your expansion, through banks within our affiliate network and other funding entities.
7. Access to savings and funding through the SMEAZ SACCOS.
8. Full access to the B2B Business Linkages/Matchmaking platform.
9. Online selling of your products and services on our Online Shop.
10. Marketing your products on the Business Directory and Products Catalogue (priority listing).
11. Inclusion in the networking platforms.
12. Access to tenders (detailed) and assistance in tendering.
13. Discount on fees for attending the Association's business events and meetings.
14. Lobbying and advocacy services.
15. Attend and vote at general meetings of the Association.
16. Election of your representative(s) into sub-committees and the Executive Committee of the Association.
17. Other benefits as the Association may from time to time decide to avail.

Who it is for

1. Corporate membership is for businesses above the medium-sized enterprise thresholds. Businesses within those thresholds register as Small Enterprise or Medium Enterprise members.

How to become a Corporate member

For Corporate membership you pay a subscription of US$300 for the full year. We offer a monthly payment option for the annual subscription, which entails paying an initial US$10 setup fee plus the first month's subscription of US$30 (US$40 in total for the first payment), then US$30 per month thereafter. Please note that the monthly payment option is not a pay-as-you-use arrangement, but a payment facility where you are expected to pay every month for the full year.
