Responsibility for the overall running of the Association rests with the Board of Trustees, also known as the Executive Committee. This is made up of the following people:
Patrick Munyaradzi, Chairman
Patrick Munyaradzi is the owner and chairman of Luxury Leathers, a medium-sized leather products manufacturing company. He has more than 15 years of business management experience at senior management level. Patrick is currently the Managing Director of Deven Engineering, and was previously General Manager of Hino Zimbabwe.
Patrick has attained several managerial qualifications over the years, which include a Master of science in leadership and change management (Leeds Metropolitan University, UK), an EDP (UZ), and a Diploma in General Management (ZIM). He is married with four children.
Farai Clement Mutambanengwe, Founder and Executive Officer
Farai is a seasoned Zimbabwean business executive and entrepreneur. He is the founder and Executive officer of the SME Association of Zimbabwe, as well as Managing Director of Adway Financial Services, a businesss consultancy and investment firm targeted at the SME sector. Prior to becoming a full-time entrepreneur, Farai was Managing Director of Premier Asset Management, and also worked at Datvest Asset Management as portfolio executive in charge of Pension Funds.
His investments career started at Bard Stockbrokers where he joined as Accountant after serving articles with Deloitte. He rose through the ranks to become Research Analyst, Derivatives dealer and Equities trader at BancABC (formerly African Banking Corporation, which in turn was created from the amalgamation of FMB, UDC and Bard).
Farai holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons) degree, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Accountancy. He has also attained several certificates in the fields of asset-liability management, derivatives and financial/investments analysis. His passion lies in financial modelling (especially as applied to investment decision-making) and business process engineering and re-engineering. His dream is to play a major role in the upliftment of Zimbabwe to being a world-class entrepreneurial centre.
Crispen Madziyauswa, Chairman - Consultants Group & SACCOS
Crispen Madziyauswa is the Managing Director for Keyvox Business Solutions, a diversified company operating Business, Financial & Tax Advisory Services plus Connectivity solutions geared for both SME’s and larger corporates.
Crispen has more than 30 years post graduate experience in Accounting, Financial & Business Management having worked for several companies spanning a wide spectrum of businesses and industries in Zimbabwe. Of note Crispen has held senior management positions in companies like Hunyani Paper & Packaging – Finance & Administration Manager; Shabanie Mine - Finance Manager; Turnall Fibre Cement - Finance Director; PG Industries Group – Finance Executive; FBC (ZBS) Building Society – Assistant General Manager – Finance & Administration; Metallon Gold Group – Finance Manager; ZFC Limited – Finance Executive & Company Secretary; Chemplex Pension Fund – Chairman Of Board Of Trustees.
Crispen holds a Bachelor Of Accountancy degree from the University Of Zimbabwe plus several advanced certificates in business and financial management. He has a passion for business excellence and wishes to leverage his significant business and management experiences for the upliftment of the Zimbabwean SME (Small to Medium Enterprises) sector.
Crispen is married with 4 children and is passionate about charity work, having been a Past President of The Lions Club Of Bulawayo.
Johannes Mudzengerere, Chairman - Manufacturing & Value Addition Group
Johannes Mudzengerere is the Managing Director of Recka Investments Private Limited. Recka Investments is an integrated petrochemical company. Johannes has held several positions in a number of organisations. He is the past Managing Director of Engen Petroleum Zimbabwe Private Limited. He holds an MBA, an Honours Applied Chemistry degree and several other professional quallifications.
Johannes has held the following positions in the past: President of the Mashonaland Chamber of Industries, National Council Member of CZI, Interim Chairman of PIAZ, Vice Chairman of NCCG Project, Chairman of IoDZ and Executive Committee member of ZIM Harare branch. Johannes is a fellow member of ZIM and IoDZ
Lawrence Nyabanga, Chairman - Retail Group
Lawrence is the founder and Managing Director of Plawn Motors Incorporated, an Automotive solutions provider. He started this business at age 19 as a sole trader. It has since grown to employ eight people in two retail outlets. Lawrence is the holder of a B. Com Marketing (Hons) Degree and he recently enrolled for a LLB degree with the University of London.
He is passionate about cars and is also keen to assist budding entrepreneurs through providing mentoring and even financial assistance (based on the challenges he faced whilst starting up). Lawrence is also a writer, and has an unpublished book “Manoeuvring business through an economic meltdown. (A personal reflection)”.
Outside of business activities, he is involved in supporting social services, with a particular interest in HIV/AIDS issues. He is the current Chairman of Hope Is Vital Foundation (HIVF). He enjoys playing volleyball and watching soccer.
Arthur Chaora, Chairman - Services Group
Arthur Chaora-Wakapiwa is an investment consultant with over 20 years of experience in the financial services sector. He is the Managing Director of Allumez Capital a financial solutions promotor for Micro, Small and Medium Sized Enterprises. His current engagements include being regional consultant for Nova Capital Global Markets.
He began his career in investment banking with First Merchant Bank, now BancABC, as a Financial Trader before becoming a Trader in International Money Markets with Stanbic Bank. Arthur joined the Tetrad Group where he rose to the position of Executive Director responsible for Wholesale Markets. He was engaged as a Treasury Consultant with CABS, a member of the Old Mutual Group, before founding Allumez Capital.
Arthur’s other business interests include the promotion of interactive communication solutions for the Education and Business sectors through Sarthas Enterprises.
He holds a Master of Science in Finance degree from the University of Leicester (UK). Arthur is married with two children. He is a Deacon in Oasis Christian Assembly and an Advanced Toastmaster.
